Sequencing Labels LabelForge

1 MINUTE READ

Overview

With LabelForge, you can automatically generate a batch of labels that use sequential numbers. Creating these labels individually can be tedious and time-consuming. LabelForge can speed up the process, and it?s a great way to create room numbers, part numbers, or serial numbers.

Prefer video instructions? You can watch the tutorial here: How to: Create Sequenced Labels in LabelForge

Set Up Your Sequence

  1. Click the Text menu if you want to show your numbers as text or choose the Linear or 2D Bars options to show the number in a form of a barcode.
  2. In the Data Source drop-down menu, choose Sequence.
  3. Click Add Text or Add Barcode, and the first number in your sequence will appear on your label as a new text or barcode object. Right now, this number will be a zero since you haven?t set any details for the sequence just yet.
  4. Close the text or barcode menu to return to the Main Menu.
  5. Click the Sequence button near the bottom of the menu. From here, set the Start and End values for your sequence of numbers.
  6. Set the Prefix and Suffix if you want a word, phrase, or specific series of numbers to come before or after each item in the sequence. You can also choose an increment value, which is how much the value will increase for each label, with a default value of 1.
  7. Set a Zero Pad to make the counted number always show with a set number of digits, such as labels 008, 009, and 010.

Check Your Label Batch

Once you have all the data displayed as required, you can use the Arrows at the bottom of the sequence menu to cycle through the different labels in your sequence. This will show you how each label in your batch will look.

Print Your Sequenced Labels

If everything looks correct, you?re ready to export your labels.

  1. Click the Print button in the toolbar.
  2. Choose Print Sequence to print your complete batch of labels. You can also choose Print Current Label to only print the label shown on-screen.
